Coastal Forever Home
The owners of this ‘rip-out and renovate’ home had plans for a big move from their country farm to the coast. Plans focussed around their ideal forever home encompassing open-plan spaces and indoor/outdoor living. The kitchen sits proudly in a prime corner of the home with extensive views overlooking their own private retreat. With a passion for cooking, the owners brief included plenty of hidden storage for large appliances, multiple preparation areas, no utilities on the island bench other than power points for convenience. Aside from the importance of functionality, the homeowner stressed that symmetry was very important to them. This is heavily reflected with the two louvre windows framing the gas cooktop and flooding the kitchen in the mornings with natural light. Bench tops feature Pegasus Blue granite with white matt joinery and spotted gum flooring.
